BAs are responsible for creating new models that support business decisions by working closely with finance and IT teams to establish initiatives and strategies aimed at improving revenue and/or optimizing costs. Business analysts need a “strong understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements as well as plenty of experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis combined with understanding of key performance indicators.

Responsibilities include:
• Creating a detailed business analysis in an effort to outline problems, opportunities, and solutions for a business
• Reporting to stakeholders and Project Management Team.
• Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders

Business analysts are tasked with prioritizing technical and functional requirements, identifying what clients want, and determining what is feasible to deliver. It requires a deep understanding of systems, how they function, who will need to be involved, and the necessary steps to get everyone on board.

The role of a business analyst is constantly evolving and changing — especially as companies rely more on data to advise business operations. Every company has different issues that a business analyst can address, whether it’s dealing with outdated legacy systems, changing technologies, broken processes, poor client or customer satisfaction, or siloed large organizations.

Business analyst skills

The business analyst position requires both hard skills and soft skills. Business analysts need to know how to pull, analyze and report data trends, share that information with others, and apply it to business goals and needs. Not all business analysts need a background in IT if they have a general understanding of how systems, products, and tools work. Alternatively, some business analysts have a strong IT background and less experience in business but are interested in shifting away from IT into this hybrid role. The role often acts as a communicator between the business and IT sides of the organization, so having extensive experience in either area can be beneficial for business analysts.

Junior Automation Engineer

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for an entry level tester to assist in the development of a major customer facing application. This position will be located at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and will be a full remote position.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product. Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out. Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process. Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product. Automated testing may be used for leveling based on hiring manager discretion.

Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.

Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products. Develop testing procedures.

Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.

Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.

Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 0 - 2 years (or commensurate experience)

Computer Science Degree can be substituted and end clients leisure with adequate experience and a similar degree (math and science) but a Bachelors degree will be required.

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.  The base pay rate for this position is $47,000-$48,000 USD to start.  This pay rate represents mthree’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting and based on the locations listed in the job advertisement. It is anticipated that qualified candidates selected for a placement will receive this pay rate as a starting salary once onsite with the mthree clients.

The stated salary and benefits package will be received once the training in the mthree Academy has been successfully completed and the candidate starts on-site with the mthree client. Trainees are paid a stipend of $125 USD for each day of training they attend (training can be 4-8 weeks); trainees must complete the course to receive payment for training. Training durations vary depending on training pathways and will be disclosed during the recruitment process.
