Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Serves as a Powertrain Controls Validation Engineer and subject matter expert for developmental validation programs providing insight to software development team, and tracking of all related validation testing.
• Builds test plans and conducts System Acceptance and Property Validation testing as assigned.
• Coordinates and conducts validation testing specially requested by various company Divisions.
• Conducts hands-on in truck vehicle validation testing.
• Participates in set up of tests, verifies that test equipment and instrumentation equipment meet specified requirements and performs software and data checks.
• Plans and coordinates projects of moderate complexity, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery, while analyzing requirements, discussing with requesters, and formulating preliminary plans, budgets, and schedules with minimal supervision.
• Writes reports as appropriate incorporating all results, conclusions and recommendations.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative and productive work relations with all other departments.
• Familiarity with advanced diagnostic issues and experience working to root cause problems.
Qualifications & Skills
• Degree in engineering discipline.
• Experience with vehicle software highly desired (but not needed)
• Ability to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands.
• Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively.
• Self-directed, excellent analysis and technical judgment required.
• Powertrain hardware and software testing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle technologies and customer usage patterns.
• Experience working with heavy-duty truck related technical projects of significant scope.
Education

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (fields of Business, Accounting, Engineering, Psychology, Marketing, Organizational Development, etc.). PMP/CAPM certification is a plus.
• 5–8 years of relatable high-level professional experience (if no degree).
• Proficient in technical tools, including Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Co-Pilot.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders.
• Analyze and document current business processes and workflows.
• Support the development of functional and technical specifications.
• Participate in meetings and workshops to gather requirements and provide project updates.
• Identify and document project risks and issues.
• Collaborate on developing and testing new systems or enhancements.
• Prepare training materials and user documentation.
• Provide user support during system implementation and post-implementation.
